Red Red Wine
August 27, 2015
Merlot, burgundy, grenache and bordeaux - let the rich colors of red wine inspire your fashion choices this upcoming season. Don't be afraid to wear shades of dark red from head-to-toe. Don a burgundy cable-knit sweater atop a grenache colored pant, or matching silk top and leather skirt in crimson-red. Emilio Pucci's velvet wide-leg pants in burgundy and Giamba's sleeveless fur tank inspire a perfect I'm chic, quirky and soft to the touch look! Pair red wine colors with cream, shades of gray and deep blue hues. Fur (faux too), velvet, wool, heavy lace.. dark red colors combined with textured fabrics are alluring, sophisticated and spot-on for fall.

Fabulous Fendi
August 21, 2015
I'm officially declaring Friday, 'Fun Fashion Day'. Not sure I would wear these fluffy pink boots, but they're still fabulous! Shearling footwear dominated the Fendi Fall 2015 runway - These powder-pink shearling booties, with a glass-like, Perspex heel appeared to float down the runway. Love this pink shearling? There are a Peeakboo micro shearling shoulder bag and strapless shearling dress available in the same powder-pink. LOVE!

Inspired by the Seventies
August 18, 2015
My recent visit to Zara (actually my first time shopping at Zara) has made me think differently about fast fashion and admittedly, I am a fan. Zara's impression of Fall 2015 designer collections stay true to the original style while keeping a short distance from mimicry. The colors, prints and silhouettes are 'what's now'. With a little designer inspiration and your own interpretation, anyone can re-create Fall's high-end fashion looks from Zara apparel and accessories. Just beyond the front doors was a seventies inspired collection that screamed Gucci Fall 2015 (one of my favorite collections this upcoming season). I also recognized a little Chloé in the clothing and purchased an oversized, shaggy vest similar in concept, but different material than the one seen atop a denim Cholé dress during the Fall show.
And so, another fashion collage to inspire you - seventies fashion is back (not sure it ever left). This seasons seventies inspired collections are retro and modern, feminine and flattering. Flared trousers are literally the most flattering cut on women. Denim and corduroy, shag and sheer will rein favorite materials this Fall. Hue's of pink, gray, dark red and the oh so retro camel are choice colors. Styling notes: flared on the bottom - fitted on top, loose or flared overalls, feminine silk tops, barely-there makeup and easy going hair.

Fashion Throwback
August 15, 2015
From 2013 runway shows to mainstream brands, this nineties scrunchie trend has been lingering for a while. I was never one for hair accessories, but I'm feeling nostalgic and admittedly started a scrunchie collection.
If you fear looking like you're on your way to an aerobics class, there are ways to modernize this accessory trend. Straight hair in a low ponytail is best with a large scrunchie. Those of us who don short do's, try a low bun (secure with elastic first) and use a small scrunchie, so the little hair you have still shows. If you maintained your long hair throughout the bob/lob phenomenon, then you have more scrunchie options - half up, half down, the traditional high pony in a large scrunchie (so nineties) and a top-knot bun held with a printed scrunchie. This is a trend to try - fun, flirty and everyone loves a throwback!
Pictured here: Brandy Melville Printed Scrunchies. Looking for something more subtle? Sephora Collection has a small, faux leather-like scrunchie available in black - perfect for shorter hair styles.

Fur Details

I love my new Naomi patchwork, shag detailed ankle boots by Tibi. Can't wait to wear them.. Embrace the fur (preferably faux fur) trend this fall - from shoes to bags and coats to gilets. I plan to don one of each (not at the same time of course).Â

Trend: Gray
August 12, 2015
The Fall season is nearing and I feel myself gravitating towards anything gray. Each season I subconsciously adopt a new hue and can't help but purchase everything in shades of my new found color. I do love a head-to-toe gray ensemble and encourage you to try it, but all gray every day will get boring! Don your gray accessories with neutral tones, such as cream and tan for a classy look. Rose, Salmon and peach shades paired with gray accessories will enhance your complexion and soften your look. Need a pop of color? Seafoam green will brighten your ensemble. I also love dark red paired with gray. A red merlot silk dress worn beneath a bathrobe-style gray sweater or crimson red over-the-knee boots with a long, heavy-knit poncho in smoke gray. Both rich in color, feminine and perfect Fall looks. Although there are perfect pairings, gray goes with everything and versatile accessories are must-haves.
