Nanny Ger (dog grandma) visited us for Thanksgiving weekend. We did a photoshoot at Signal House - LOVE this rooftop. We shopped (of course) AND did a culinary trip around the world - Sushi (homemade), BBQ (HM baked potatoes and brisket), Mexican (El Presidente), seasonal Italian fare (Centrolina) and Middle Eastern (my famous Shakshuka). Going on a juice cleanse now.. It was the perfect Thanksgiving weekend with family.
Moschino is known for its outrageous fashion designs and this SS22 collection is just that. This fabulously cheeky drop is inspired by the diner - Literally! I can't envision myself donning any of these brilliant styles, but I have so much appreciation for this amusing compilation. The enthusiastic resort 2022 collection is super fun - Exactly what fashion needs after years in and out of isolation. There other clothing and accessory styles in the lineup, so I suggest you head on over to the Moschino site for a laugh. This collection is so literal, there's no room for confusion. It is simply everything "diner". Diner-inspired jewelry, handbags, clothing and tech accessories. My favorite is the coffee pot bag. People will be like - Hmm.. Is that a coffee pot? How bizarre! I'd love to go back in time - To the diner days - When skirts and roller skates were all the rage. When drive-in diners were the perfect night out. Who doesn't love milkshakes, hamburgers and fries? This was a memorable fashion moment that pops up now and then over the decades AND this diner-chic collection is a much needed explosion of color and happiness.
I love my new Wellington inspired Bottega Veneta puddle ankle boots (available at Bottega Veneta). They're simple, yet interesting. The chunky sole gives you a little extra height, while the large shaft allows you to show off your socks (I'm a sock fan). These puddle boots come in a variety of colors AND there's a taller version. I'm obsessed with Moschino t-shirts. This Moschino cow-print oversized t-shirt (available at Farfetch) is cheeky and fun. This Moschino This Is Not a Toy oversized t-shirt (available at Farfetch) is the latest version of the signature teddy bear print. Most of my tees are oversized Moschino t-shirts. They're high-quality and super comfy. I have been lusting over this Dior anorak (available at Dior) for some time. I have a brilliant collection of Dior boots and handbags, but this will be my first piece of Dior clothing - I'M SO EXCITED! This oversized, hooded anorak dons the signature Dior oblique motif, side pockets and a front pocket with a flap showcasing a CRISTIAN DIOR signature. Last Christmas, I received the Louis Vuitton pillow comfort ankle boots. This year, I asked for the LV pillow comfort mules (available at Louis Vuitton). Similar to the boots, these mules are comprised of monogram nylon with a soft down filling. I'm counting down the days till Christmas! I have wanted a pair of LV Archlight sneakers since they debuted. Finally, this LV sneaker is available in a color scheme/print that suits my style. These Louis Vuitton Archlight sneakers (available at Louis Vuitton) are black and white with the new graphic Louis Vuitton signature. LOVE!
Dior sunglasses, Moschino cow-print t-shirt, Dior J'adior cotton oblique bracelets, Dior D Lune bracelet, Dior Lady Dior micro vanity case (Rose Des Vents cannage lambskin), LoveShackFancy ruffle mini skirt (violet splash), Bottega Veneta puddle boots. Grey is photobombing from the window and wearing a Puppia pinkaholic harness.
To say I'm obsessed with Moschino and Dior is an understatement. Most of my must-have tops are Moschino and If you follow my Instagram, you know I LOVE Dior handbags and shoes. I purchased this Moschino oversized embroidered logo shirt on sale at Farfetch (my go-to online shopping site). There is stitching on the front and across the back that says Moschino - LOVE! Paired with biker shorts and sock-style boots, this look is chic and perfect for a night out this summer - If we get to go out this summer! I saw these Louis Vuitton Pillow comfort ankle boots on social media before they came out and had-to-have. These cozy boots became available in black and khaki - of course, I went with khaki. They're now available in white - Bummer, cause I would have gone with white. These LV boots are so comfortable. There is structure inside the boot, so even though they look super squishy, your feet stay in place. These pillow comfort boots come in water-repellent nylon with down filling and they're SO warm! Another pair of super cozy boots are the Dior Chez Moi Dior Granville ankle boots. I call them my "Chalet Boots", cause they're cozy and fabulous - perfect for sipping wine by the chalet fire. These ankle boots don the blue Dior oblique embroidered velvet pattern. I have the mini Door book tote to match. LOVE! My favorite boots of the season are the DiorIron ankle boot in white. This style was featured on the runway and on-trend this season. Many fashion influencers are wearing similar styles from other designer brands. Even though there are front and back tabs, these DiorIron boots are a little difficult to get on and off, cause they're super structured, so you might need someone to pull them off - Don't wear them through security at the airport! They're rubber, so you can wear them in the rain and they're comfortable. Yes, another pair of Dior boots - told you I was obsessed. I was hoping for colder weather this season, so I could wear my new Dior D-Venture winter boots, but no such luck. Hopefully next winter. The shearling lining is cozy and will keep your feet super warm. The the velcro fastening and mountain shoe-style hooks, give these winter boots a modern vibe. Imma end on another Moschino t-shirt (I have many). Moschino t-shirts are high-quality and will last years of repeated wear. I prefer the oversized t-shirts worn with joggers, biker shorts or leggings. I'm not a big fan of the color red, BUT love this Moschino Teddy logo-printed t-shirt (purchased at Farfetch). The this is not a Moschino toy bear print is cute and the contrast in colors are chic. Can't wait to wear this one - When we finally get to go out in public!

I love taking holiday photos with the fam. Every year we get a little better at the layout and poses. All of these photos were taken last Christmas. I think it's gonna be hard to beat last years photoshoot, BUT we have two additional family members this year, so I'm so excited to have everyone home for the holidays. I always purchase Christmas attire and accessories for the family photos. Here we're wearing Lazy One Country Stripes matching pajamas for the entire family and dog(s). Of course we got dolled up for a chic Christmas photoshoot. The second is my favorite. Basic poses are boring, so get creative and KNOW YOUR ANGLES. Teddy is wearing a Canada Pooch Polar Pom Pom hat. Romi is wearing a Red Valentino skirt. Ilan finally got to wear his wooden bowtie. I'm (b.a.gorgie) is wearing a Nation LTD sleeveless top, Nation LTD dress and Kendall + Kylie boots. Those unintentional pics are always fun. Make sure you capture every moment. Romi and Teddy are fed up with this photoshoot. I called it a wrap a few minutes later. Action shots make the best photos. Think of little things you can do to create movement in your pics. Look at Ilan's face in the first photo. I think he's channeling his inner Jedi! We had way too much fun (and wine) taking these pics. They may not be "family friendly" photos for the holiday cards, but they're perfect for instagram. Save your wrapping paper for an after Christmas shot. Throw the paper around, take continuous pics and hope to capture a good photo. Caption it "That's a wrap!" I'm wearing a Moschino Christmas oversized t-shirt, but you can't see it. I'm also wearing Pook Juicy Jumbos slipper socks. These are the best socks EVER! Pook is my go-to "glamping" inspired clothing and accessories . Teddy's exhausted from the Christmas festivities and totally over these photo shoots. He slept through this entire shoot! I hope these Christmas photos inspire you to take fun and unique holiday photos.
During these unusual times, camping is the safest, social distancing vacation. My go-to glamping outpost is Getaway House DC in Shenandoah, VA. I camped here a few times last year, but had to stop traveling due to 2020 restrictions (and paranoia). A few months ago, I decided to get out of the city and go back to getaway-glamping. I'm obsessed all over again! The camping outpost in Shenandoah is a 20 acre plot of land with small cabins scattered about. The cabin (Getaway House) is a thoughtfully designed, cozy space, with all the essentials for a relaxing weekend in the woods. The small area surrounding the cabin is perfect. There's a picnic table, Muskoka chairs and a firepit with a grill grate. There's a container containing wood and a few startup logs located by the firepit and basic provisions inside the cabin for purchase. I've camped at Getaway House in Shenandoah seven times and have stayed in cabins located all over the map. I've stayed in Philip, Hank, Juanita, Carroll, Thelma and Lionel. The Thelma is my absolute favorite. This is the first time I've stayed in this style of cabin and although we only require one bed, now I prefer the double bed cabin. It feels like this cabin is larger than the one bed style and it's nice to have a space to keep your belongings out of the way - We put our stuff on the top bunk. If you've stayed at a Getaway House, you know space is limited and these tiny cabins can get crowded. When you book your cabin (one or two beds), you can request a cabin style or a specific cabin. Although Getaway House doesn't promise you'll get a particular cabin, they will make a note in your booking and do their best to accommodate you. The location of the Thelma cabin is perfect. It's on the outer edge of the outpost and has a larger area around the cabin. I highly recommend you take a look at the Getaway House map and try to snag a cabin in this area of the outpost. While you should put your phone, tablet and computer away, I can't help myself. Here I am trying desperately to get service. The reception isn't great, so it does kinda force you to enjoy camping sans electronics. I highly recommend packing board games. My favorites are Bears vs Babies, Exploding Kittens, Throw Throw Burrito and Oh Fruck! Every camping trip is a little different. Sometimes we explore the outpost, other times we play games all day and I always change up the food and beverage menu. This trip was focused on relaxing, sitting by the fire and taking naps. Of course, I had to snap a few camping inspired pics of the cabin, Teddy and I before messing it up. Here I'm wearing a Moschino Couture! Care Label-Print t-shirt and Pook socks. Pook is one of my favorite brands to shop camping-inspired clothing and accessories. My tote is the Gucci Florentia Lorto Di Giove tote. My husband, Teddy and I camp at Getaway House at least once a month. It's good to get a change of scenery once in a while, do something different, put down your electronics (discipline required) and simply getaway from everyday life. For more info on Getaway House DC, please see my previous posts in the Lifestyle section of b.a.gorgie.com.
I was curating the perfect collection of clothes and accessories for a trip to Paris and Amsterdam in June. THAT'S NOT HAPPENING ANYMORE! I guess I'll have to model the 20+ looks in the house. Here's a few of the stand-out pieces in my "cancelled trip to Europe" suitcase. I had to move mountains to get these Dior D-Trap ankle boots (available at Dior). These fishnet cutout boots were a key piece on the runway. The reinvented combat boot has a leather flap with double buckles and a few signature Dior features - the bee, gold Christian Dior logo and black star on the sole. These boots would have turned heads in Paris - maybe next year.. I'm a HUGE fan of Moschino t-shirts. They're high quality and make a statement. I was planning to pair this Moschino BULLCHIC! t-shirt (available at Farfetch) with a Tibi turquoise jacquard midi skirt and the Dior D-Trap boots. It would have been my Carrie Bradshaw in Paris moment. No worries - this t-shirt will not go to waste. My sunglasses collection is overflowing, BUT I managed to fit one more pair in there. These DiorCamp aviator sunglasses (available at Farfetch) were made for me. The straight pink arms don the CD logo and the slightly tinted pink lens adds sofiticaticon. LOVE! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to snag this Christian Dior Book Tote (available at Dior). It is gorgeous. The Toile de Jouy embroidered pattern was inspired by Mr. Dior's muse. I love the complexity of the pattern, along with the grey shades and Christian Dior signature on the front. The Dior book tote is timeless and while it is reinvented each season, the old ones never go out of style. Interesting fact - you can collapse these totes and pack them nicely in your suitcase. The iconic Moschino teddy bear has a three dimensional effect and a playful vibe. The teddy bear makes an appearance each season and is super cute. I like that this one is bursting through a piece of art. From a fashion obsessed state of mind - this Moschino teddy bear t-shirt (available at Farfetch) is a piece of art. I have a very basic hairstyle - a slightly slanted bob, colored black. It's chic, but you can't do much with it. Albeit, hair clips do add a little flare. I purchased this Off-White two-toned hair clip (available at Revolve) to hold my tiny strands together and add a little contrast. The white and black clip holds my thin hair nicely and looks great against my black hair.
